Of jokes and GOE

there are lots of people who cried in front of the GOE already. the reasons for crying are different but what brought out those tears is always the same-- GOE's insensitivity again and again. it's sitting down within an arm's length of GOE's intimidating presence and soaking in all the words that you don't want to hear but are being shoved down your throat. it's the thought that you know you've made a mistake but are being reminded needlessly. as if crying in front of the GOE is not enough humiliation. as if you do not know what you have done and what you're planning to do about it. as if you're still in kindergarten (blechh!).

what's worse is that the GOE who thinks that he hasn't caused enough shame will rant on and on about such sensitive issue, even commanding you to take things lightly!

take things lightly???!!! !@#$%^&

what's this, a joke? a game? how can you take things lightly in such condition? how can you say to yourself that it's not serious when you feel like your tears hit the ground before you can even wipe them from your face?

and when you're done crying, the only conclusion you can make is this: in the suffocating world that you're forced to share with the GOE, YOU simply do not matter.

damn, why do i keep forgetting that humans and evil gods just don't mix?

hmmm...

this morning my colleague sent us a forwarded message on criticizing others. turns out, as the author said, attacking others is just a waste of time. he even suggested that instead of looking at other's faults, you should look at what you can learn from the person you dislike and how you can improve YOUR life.

amen, all points taken.

but when it comes to the GOE, things are little different. when it comes to this blog, at least.

waste of time? nah, i say it is more of an avenue for praticing my writing skills. nothing wrong with that:) no time is ever wasted on improving oneself.
i should instead look at what i can learn from the person i'm attacking. yup, already did. please refer to my post#2. greatest learning indeed:)
let's look at how i should improve MY life. already mused over this matter. not a GOE issue, sorry.

so was the author right? yes, i must say but only for people other than the GOE. otherwise, i would be feeling so guilty right now, having created this blog in the first place:)

This came thru a forwarded email from the GOE..along with other similar photos...perhaps I should call him GOET instead, meaning god of evil thoughts hehe:)

Much ado about nothing

I saw the GOE in lively discussion with our not-so-young coworkers (those jurassic staffs from "far-flung" areas such as UK and US --much like aliens who do not comprehend any GOE talk). Oh how enthusiastic they seemed. Throwing ideas here and there. Arguing at times coz that's what mature staffs do. In any case, they were engrossed in this seemingly productive exchange of opinions.

Well, been there done that.

We, the younger and wiser staffs know better than to waste time and effort contributing to similar type of discussion with the GOE. We know the GOE too well. In the end, it was always his ideas that should be followed. These discussions were always about what the GOE thinks and what he should do to convince us that he is right. Funny because he thinks he is a true-blue open-minded person! Well i think he is just an expert performer. These discussions aferall are but pure displays of talents. (i.e. Talking, arguing, presenting ideas, etc) Unfortunately, actual listening to someone else's ideas is not one of them. Why waste your breath?

So what were these jurassic staffs thinking? And we thought that since they're older they'd be wiser..

and because none of us came to work on Labor Day...here's a touching message from our dear old boss:

Looks like a free weekend ahead. It’s the perfect time for doing things most professionals find it difficult to do:
a) Those behind in their improvement projects to catch up … since I will be here for guidance and decision and it can all be done quickly.
b) Those in need of cleaning and clearing files to so do
c) Those behind in their work to catch up
d) Those up to date in everything to get ahead or help those in need
e) Review plans and budgets

Maybe not so free a weekend after all? Your call! (Is it????)

This is quite late considering that Labor Day is way over. but then it's not the timing that counts. i guess we just have to look at what the mighty god of evil has to say during a holiday...let me translate it for you (see remarks in parenthesis):

I didn’t get a chance to wish you all happy long weekend … While I know May Day is a holiday, it slipped my mind that it indeed was a long weekend (I forgot to give you more work). Anyway, Happy Long Weekend (I hope you did not forget to bring home work). Here’s something to reflect on for those who are reflective … variants of what I keep reminding you about:

- We reap what we sow – Anon (If you work hard and smart, you'll earn more. In short, work even on a holiday.)
